Fine clear day. Church in the
morning with 2 children Bill &
Crawford. 1st Sunday in Lent.
Mr. Hutchinson & Mrs Macbeth lunched
+ teaed. Wrote to Alick. Drove
over to Col. Taylor's with some things
for Alick. Got a cocker pup from him.
MONDAY, 6.
Fine day but thawing at [word crossed out]
noon. After office drove out to
Capt.White's to see about a military
saddle for Alick but [Whitehart?] hadn't
one.
TUESDAY, 7.
Fine morning but rain in the afternoon
then fine again at 5. Wrote to
Alick.

Sharp frost last night.
Thaw in the day time.
THURSDAY, 9.
Mingled snow + rain during
the day & snow alone at
night. Crawford back
from Bothwell. Slept at
Thornwood.
FRIDAY, 10.
Sharp frost last night
+ about 2 in. of snow.
Wrote to Mack Wilson .
News that passports system
abolished as regards Canada
