Dear Alderman Phillips:

Although the Common Council disposed of many
important matters before its August recess, many other items
remain to be considered by the seven standing committees.

For your convenience, I am attaching a list of the
more significant files which are before the individual
committees. Some of these files are scheduled for immediate
hearings, while others have been referred out to various city
departments for reports and recommendations, or hvae been held
in the box.

In addition to the files listed here, each committee
has many other matters awaiting its attention. It is hoped that
the committees will give these matters careful study and report
back as soon as possible, with particular attention to those
files that require early action by the full council.

With this in mind, I am confident we will continue
the the excellent progress we made during the first half of
this year.
