110 Carex Grawei, Dewey

Syn. C. heterostachya Dewey.

Fertile spike solitary, or with one or two short
additional ones at the base; fertile 3 to 6, remote
the lowest near the root, oblong or cylindrical;
perigynia ovoid-oblong, obscurely nerved, longer than
the rather obtuse scale; chenium obovate, triquetrous,
tapering at the base. Culms 4 to 8 inches
high; flowers in May. Wet boggy places.

Wisconsin, and Michigan. Has been
found only in these locations and in N. York.
