Tribes

The Carabici are divided into 7 sections

1. Tetra Truncatipennis. Elytra truncated; head & thorax narrower than abdomen; ligula oval or square; hooks of tarsi in some are not deutated but arranged like comb teeth.
2. Bipartiti. Elytha entire; antenna grauose and geniculate; head broad; thorax large, seperated from the body by an apparent heduncle; legs slightly elongated; tarsi short; two anterior tibioe dentated; mandibles strong, deutated
3. Quadrimani. Four anterior tarsi dilated, 3 or 4 last joints obcondate or obtriangutar; winged; headnot contracted behind; mandibles not very strong; tibia spiny.
4. Simplicimati. Two anterior tarsi alone dilated; 1st joints of the 4 follows tarsi slender elongated, cylidrical or obcovic; 3 joint of antennoe double the 2
5. Patellimania. First joints of anterior tarsi square or subcordate, always rounded at their extremity.
6. Grandipalpi. Body thick, apterous; labrum bilobate; last joint of exterior palhi very large internal side of mandibles deutated throughout
7. Subulipalhi. Penultimate joint of exterior palhi obcovic, nuited to the following into an oval or fusiform body termubated like an owl; internal side of anterior tibioe emarginate.
