Mr.

I. A. Lapham,

Dear Sir

I inclose [enclose]
you my observations for rain
falling at this point the only
months I have measured it.

Other duties called me away
from home so much that I
found it impossible to keep
a perfect record & reluctantlyl
gave it up.

The observations for the last 9
days of May & the whole of June
1853 were made by a friend. They
look larger to me but may be
all right. There were many
heavy showers at that time.
Anything further I may be able to furnish
you I shall be happy to do so. Very Respectfully
