The basis of jurisd. in contract:
Exactly opposite from tort — a
maritime K must concern a maritime
matter. A K to build a ship or
make changes in a ship is not
a maritime K. After the ship
is completed, & then puts in for
repairs or supplies, a K to
supply them is maritime. The
turning point is point at which
the ship becomes a ship.
It doesn't until it is complete,
servicable & launched.
