Lynn Coltr & Compr
Sir, 31st July 1858.
I beg to acquaint you that on
Sunday morning last, _ the 25th instant - the smack
"William" of your Port - Leonard Proctor Master, - and
William Smith Owner - drifted on shore at Spurn
Point having on board 33 Tons of Coals, all of which
were lost - Proctor the Master left her, and has I
believe proceeded to Lynn. He did not call here to
make a Declaration, but requested a Coast Guard
Officer to sell the broken materials of the Vessel,
which he cannot do, although they are of but little
value. - Will you therefore call upon Proctor to make
the necessary Wreck Declaration and inform the Own
that he had better appoint a person to sell the same
JS.
