In reply to your preceeding Letter,
I beg to acquaint you that in like manner as Wm Danby
whose case I reported in my Letter on the 10th Ulto
John Shot
Francis Smith
John Smith and
Robert Frankish
were each convicted as follows ----- viz
In double the value of
C 5 . 3 . 0 Tallow ---- which was sold
for ---------- £11 . 10 . 0

One Fifth -------------- 4 . 12 . 0
Penalty less than £100 ---- " 10 . 10
Costs ----------- " 17 . 2

The Magistrates decided that each should be convicted
in one fifth of double the value and that the amount
of punishment should be limited to £6 and it was opportuned
to each as above accordingly. -- John Shot is undergoing his
term of imprisonment. --------------------
