The evidence in this matter being very
conflicting - and the case not appearing very
pressing - I have delayed writing to you
till I had an opportunity of a personal interview
with Capt. Metcalfe - today he will be here
when I will speak to him on the subject.

With reference to your letter of the
5th instant - I beg to acquaint you I
have conferred with Capt. Metcalfe on the
subject of the anchor &c in question- and
with reference to your letter to me of the
20th of February last and my reply thereto
on the following day he has informed
me that you have not exhibited to him
the descriptive particulars left with you
by the Captain to enable you to identify
the anchor &c he had left in Bridlington Bay
I will therefore thank you to send the same to JS
