Whereas, John S. Tyler of Boston, has herefore, at various times prepared memorials addressed to the Government of the United States for indemnity for losses by capture of sundry vessels by cruisers of the so called Confederate States, for which losses, or some of them, the Government of Great Britain has made compensation under the Geneva award, so called,

and Whereas the said Tyler has procured a transfer from the claimants of many or all of said claims to Charles R. Tucker, George C. Crocker, and Wm. W. Crapo of New Bedford who have agreed to attend to the collection of said claims for the consideration of ten per centum of any sums that may be recovered, with an addition not exceeding Two and one half per cent, for expenses to be approved by the claimants,

Now this agreement by and between the said John S. Tyler on the one part, and the said Wm. W. Crapo acting for said Tucker Crocker and himself on the other part.

Witnesseth That the said Tucker, Crocker and Crapo are to pay, and the said Tyler is to receive one fourth part of the ten per cent aforesaid recoverable upon the sums that may be collected upon any of the claims which the said Tyler has caused to be placed in the hands of said Tucker Crocker and Crapo shall also pay to the said Tyler all his necessary disbursements incurred in causing the said claims to be placed in the hands not exceeding one per cent of the amount recovered from said claims.
