No. Easton, Mass Feby 28th 1872

W. W. Crapo, Esqr

Dear Sir I have been [illegible] commended to place in your hands the claims which I have against the U. S. for premiums paid for insurance against War risks. I think our claims will amount to about seven thousands dollars. How soon must these claims be sent in and what proof of claims will be required . If you have occasion to go to Boston soon I would like to meet you there . If not I can [rely? going to] New Bedford if necessary.

Respectfully Yours John H. Swain
