2 leagues from hence is Villa Fermosa which was the Head Quarters of the British Army  it is a very pretty village  there is likewise a nice village about ½ a league from this which was occupied by the Enemy, ovr, Alameida  Co.l M.cLean joined us at Castillegos  I have a great desire to get as near as circumstances will allow to Ciudad Rodrigo, which is closely invested by our Cavalry  it is about 5 leagues from hence, & from what I can learn, much the same kind of place as Badajos  it has a fine appearance from the heights.
17th Broke up from our cantonments & marched to Almadelia a distance of 4 leagues where we lay outside the town 
18th marched to Albergaria a distance of 1 league  it is a pleasant village about the same distance from Ciudad Rodrigo as Castillegos  the object of our moving was I understand to concentrate our force  it seems to be confidently reported that Ciudad Rodrigo is in want of provisions 
