of salt peter let all boil till the strength of the spice is obtain'd & when quite cold lay in the beef - turning & washing it well every day for 3 weeks then roll it in bran & hang it in a moderate heat for about three weeks then parboil it & afterwards wrap in a butter'd paper & bake it till it is enough - Le Blonds varnish for Prints take copaiba balsam 4lbs & Copal in powder 1lb, add by single ounces every day to the balsam keeping it in a warm place or the sun, stir. ring it often; when all is dissolved add spirits of turpentine a sufficient quantity
