Mr. J.M. Nicholds,
Dyersburg, Tenn.

My dear Mr. Nichols:

I beg to thank you most sincerely for your
cordial letter of Nov. 20th, expressing your approval
of my action on the Hillstrom case. I have
shown your letter to the members of the Board of
Pardons and they join in this expression of
thanks.

It is a pleasure to hear from the good citizens
of the country who are lending their support
to pubic officials in their efforts to maintain
law and order. The moral effect of the outspoken
allegiance to the institutions of government by
men like yourself, is most salutory and the sentiments
which you are assisting in building up, will
work for the perpetuation of the ideals upon which
our government was founded.

Very truly,
Governor
