Mr. J. T. Farrer,
Provo, Utah.

My dear Mr. Farrer:-

So many matters have engaged my attention during the
past six weeks that it has been impossible before now to
reach the accumulated mail. I trust, therefore, you will
accept this tardy acknowledgment of your cordial letter of
November 20th, approving of my action in the notorious
Hillstrom case.

It is a source of much satisfaction to know that my
stand on this case meets with the approval of the people
of this state who are known to stand for the enforcement
of law and order. I did only what I regarded as my plain
and simple duty.

The members of the Board of Pardons to whom I showed
your letter, join with me in this expression of appreciation.

Cordially yours,

Governor.
