If we consider a little the Nature
of the Metallic Substances, we may soon
judge what they will produce, nor can we be
mistaken without something [extraordinary?] occurs
what sort of an [Infant?] it is, & what kind of
[Disposition?] it springs from - Let us take [?],
the shale Produce of the red titre just as we
find it in the Mine, and it will be of several
different appearances, by which we
have been able to draw the [?]
Conclusions —
[?] Ore breaks generally in
a sulphorous Pyrite, like [?,?,&?] -
therefore it generally takes its Name from
them as [?]Pyrite, [?]Pyrite, Vitriol Pyrite
& [?]Pyrite - which [?] holds the Metal in
its Power, & hides itself in it, drawing
its Nourishment & Support from it, & [?]
