With respect tot he House Rent I am really at a loss how to judge & wish you to determine. [??] charged me notonly as much as the other Boarders but something extra for the Company I asked. I was in it 34 Days. I send up 34 Dollars. Take as much thereof as you think proper, or, if in your opi= nion it be not enough let me know & I will remit more I would be sorry the Settlement of that r any other concern should lessen me in your view.

Mr. Smith (who with the young Lanier desire their best Compliments) & myself were very sensible of your at tention is getting the House for us & lending the furniture a sae Return of which I hope you received.
