Summer School at the University at Greensboro

President Friday also presented a proposal for the University at Greensboro for two terms of summer school beginning next year, and for the use of dormitory facilities by male students during the summer sessions.

New Dormitory Construction at the University at Greensboro

The following resolution was presented and on motion of Mrs. Lathrop, seconded by Mr. Hill, it was unanimously adopted:

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT GREENSBORO TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE HOUSING AND HOME FINANCE AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR LOAN ASSISTANCE UNDER TITLE IV OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1950 IN FINANCING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DORMITORY AT THE UNIVERSITY AT GREENSBORO, AND DESIGNATING A. H. SHEPARD, JR. , THE BUSINESS OFFICER AND TREASURER, AS THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH APPLICATION.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of The University of North Carolina:

Section 1. That A. H. Shepard, Jr., the Business Officer and Treasurer be and he hereby is authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with the United States of America for loan assistance under Title IV of the Housing Act of 1950 in anticipation of the issuance of $1,350,000 revenue bonds to pay the costs of a dormitory to be constructed on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina.

Section 2. That the said A. H. Shepard, Jr., is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information to the United States of America, through the Housing and Home Finance Agency, as it may reasonably request in connection with the application for a loan and the issuance and sale of bonds for the payment thereof.

LOAN AGREEMENT FOR NORTH CAROLINA STATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT RALEIGH

The following Loan Agreement, together with its Terms and Conditions) between the Board of Trustees of The University of North Carolina and the Housing and Home Finance Agency of the United States of America, on behalf of North Carolina State of The University of North Carolina at Raleigh, was presented, and it was moved by Mr. Hill and seconded by Mrs. Burgwyn that the proposed Loan Agreement be approved and that its execution on behalf of North Carolina State of The University of North Carolina at Raleigh be authorized, and that the Business Officer and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees be authorized to request from time to time, if he deems it necessary or desirable, that the Housing and Home Finance Agency agree to such changes in or waivers of any provisions of said Loan Agreement necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of said Board of Trustees, subject to final approval by the Executive Committee of any amendatory loan agreement required to effectuate any such change.

LOAN AGREEMENT

THIS LOAN AGREEMENT, dated as of August 1, 1964, by and between

NORTH CAROLINA STATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT RALEIGH

(herein called the "Borrower") and the United States of America (herein called the "Government"), WITNESSETH:

Section 1. Amount, Purchase Price, and Purpose. Subject to the Terms and Conditions (Form CFA-520 dated 4-63) attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A, and the provisions of this Agreement, the Borrower will sell and the Government, acting by and through the Housing and Home Finance Administrator (herein called the "Administrator"), will purchase $2,200,000 aggregate principal amount of the obligations of the Borrower described below (herein called the "Bonds"), or such lesser amount thereof as the Administrator estimates will be required, together with the Borrower's funds provided from other sources, to pay the development cost of the Project (estimated to be ($2,200,000), hereinafter described, at a price equal to the principal amount thereof plus accrued interest, the proceeds of the sale of such Bonds to be used solely for the development of the said Project; and, further, the Borrower will offer for sale or exchange, as hereinafter provided, $7,618,000 of its obligations described herein or such lesser amount thereof as may be necessary to retire or be exchanged for all its outstanding North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering of the University of North Carolina Dormitory Revenue Bonds Series - Series 1956, North Carolina State College Student Apartments Revenue Bonds dated September 1, 1958, North Carolina State College Student Housing Revenue Bonds - Series 1961, and North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering of the University of North Carolina Dormitory Revenue Bonds - Series 1961.

Section 2. Description of Bonds. The Bonds which the Borrower agrees to sell and the Government agrees to purchase or exchange are described as follows:

(a) Designation: North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh Housing System Revenue Bonds of 1964, Series A, B, C, E, and F.

(b) Date: September 1, 1964.

(c) Principal Amount: $9,205,000 (consisting of Series A in the amount of $1,804,000, Series B in the amount of $2,066,000 Series C in the amount of $1,774,000, Series E in the amount of $1,361,000 and Series F in the amount of $2,200,000).

(d) Denomination: $1,000

(e) Type: Negotiable, serial coupon Bonds, payable to bearer.

(f). Interest Rate: 2-3/4% per annum, payable semi-annually on March 1 and September 1 in each year, first interest payable March 1, 1965.

(g) Maturities: September 1, in years and amounts as follows:
