Fund shall be signed by the Escheats Officer and countersigned by the President or the Business Officer and Treasurer of The University of North Carolina.

The foregoing provisions repeal and replace the provisions of a resolution of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, November 12, 1957, relative to withdrawals of cash or securities from any account of the University administered by the Fiscal Agent.

On motion of Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Hill, the above resolution was unanimously adopted.

Resolution amending present requirements for reporting salaries to Executive Committee

WHEREAS, action of the Executive Committee on September 11, 1961, requires that there shall be reported to it salaries over $13,000 for academic personnel and over $14,000 for personnel of the Division of Health Affairs; and

WHEREAS, the North Carolina General Assembly of 1963 has appropriated substantial amounts for the improvement of faculty salaries;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Executive Committee hereby amends its action of September 11, 1961, to require the reporting of salaries over $15,000 for academic personnel and $15,000 for personnel of the Division of Health Affairs, the amendment to be effective as of July 1, 1963.

Mr. Maynard moved that the resolution amending present requirements for reporting salaries to the Executive Committee be approved. The motion was duly seconded and it was approved.

Removal of certain buildings from Victory Village

On motion of Mr. Umstead, duly seconded, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:

WHEREAS, at the termination of World War II, the University was given some housing formerly utilized at military installations in order to help meet the demand of married veterans who were returning to college; and

WHEREAS, among the housing facilities so furnished at the University in Chapel Hill were several two-story barracks-type buildings; and

WHEREAS, the said buildings are now obsolete and difficult to maintain; and

WHEREAS, the University desires to demolish one of the four remaining two-story barracks-type buildings, and wishes to contract for the removal of the other three; and

WHEREAS, the President and Business Officer and Treasurer of the University, and the Chancellor and Business Manager of the University at Chapel Hill have recommended to the Trustees' Committee on Real Property that these buildings be removed from the campus, and said Committee on Real Property has approved this recommendation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the four barracks-type two-story apartment buildings furnished to the University by the U. S. Government after World War II be removed from the campus, one by demolition by the University and the other three by contract with persons engaged in this type of work, and that the University administration be and hereby is authorized to recommend to the Department of Administration that the removal of said buildings be accomplished as expeditiously as possible.
