to hear by Telegraph
of my beloved Fathers
arrival in New Y-

May God bless & keep all
of you from sorrow or harm
Kiss many times each loved
one - All here join in love

Savannah February 28th

Friday evening -

My own very dearest Mother,

The weather has been
& still is so lovely & mild that I feel every hope
that our dear Appy has felt no ill affects from
her journey - Oh I am very anxious about her
dread so much that she may have taken cold
and long for the mail tomorrow to hear how
she and all the rest of you beloved ours are
God grant that I may hear good news from you
I want some thing to cheer me - in all this [anxiety?]
home of my children have yet [b?i?] out with
measels- but none of them are well - My dear
little King had quite a high fever all yesterday
& was very restless last night - [?] poor today - Tillie
was taken in the night with a severed pain in
his stomach and throwing &had a little fever - &
has been quite unwell all today - Rosa & Anna
are neither of them well - & Johney feverish- So for
us - & sad to me is it that our beloved Cousin is
quite ill - She says I must tell you that she
is "very, very, sick" - [?] fear it is [crosses out] Pneumonia-
She came here yesterday morning to see me
& appeared as well as usual - From here she went
