[blacked out area]

Mr. David C. Driskell
Art Historian
University of Maryland
College Park, Md.

Dear Mr. Driskell:

I read a very interesting story in our Orlando Sentinel
newspaper about your efforts to promote black art and
its relation to our culture and heritage.

I would be interested in knowing how you organized your
first endeavors and exhibits.

After reading the story, I thought there might be some
opportunities to begin something similar. I think it
would open up new areas of interest to not only those
already involved in art work but to the youth also.

This letter is catching you by surprise but I will be
appreciative of your reply and guidance. Thank you.

Sincerely yours,
George H. Grodhaus [signature]

P.S. I am retired at present but I have been involved
in art work over a number of years and would like
to remain active in the field.
