Your favor of 24th inst with enclosed Dft for $100 came duly to hand for which you have our thanks - [Drnot?] ful uneasy about the balance. We can wait for your [fanven'ance?]

We [bud?] our [Manitti?] Stocks in Aug & Sept. var of Roses, that ripen thier wood early & particularly if scarce must be used whenever ripe, even if they have to be budded in June & July - We find [grapes?] do best with [us?] budded late - If the wood is not perfectly ripe we take it out - We prefer to work on the old wood -

We have had a most delightful Spring. Apl was very dry & warm. May thus far rather [ever?] & cold - Morello Cherries & Apples are just in flower now -

The prospect for a general fruit crop has never been better - although the very cold & frequent rains of late may do some injury

We have done a very satisfactory Spring business, our sales amt to more than [ad?] any previous season & [illegible] [illegible] - The [demand?] for trees &c next fall will be greater than ever - Let your [Lons grosicute?] the Nursery business in the vigor -
