Gentlemen: - Your original favor of the 11th Nov - containing an order for 6,000 Apple scions was recd three days since. You directed to East instead of West Northfield which accounts for the long time it has been on the road.

Your letter of Dec 20th reached us without accident and I have complied with the instructions which it contains, in a manner I trust that [will?] be satisfactory to you. I send you this day per. Express one large box - marked "Geo. J. & S.H. Kellogg - nurserymen - Janesville Wis." which I hope you will receive in good order.

My Father left for Springifeld before the arrival of your order - so that in selecting your varieties I have not had the benefit of his knowledge and experiance - still I

flatter myself that you will be pretty well pleased with my selection. I have been careful not to make mistakes in cutting and labeling - and have not trusted it to hirelings. The varieties are such as we could select for ourselves - and we believe them to be true to name; below I give you a list of them which may be of some assistance to you. I do not send bill not knowing what arrangements Dr. K - has made with you
