Understanding from the Friends of
Mr Wm Brady that he is an applicant for
the appointment of Secretary of State, and
having been requesteed to state to you my
opinion of Maj Brady- I can state
that from a very partial acquaintance
with him, I have no reason to beleive [sic] that
he is other than a Gentleman, and from the
representations of Men in whose statements
I have Confidence I am induced
to beleive [sic] that he is a Soldier a Gentleman
and Capable of performing the duties of the
office.
