Thursday
Kate Atkins said "O I have had such
a shock. the girl "Ellen O.Brian that
came in this week, was once a prisoner in
Wollongong gaol at the time we were in business there,
my husband and I used often to spend an evening with Mrs. Hobbs (the matron) and Ellen used to wait at her table, and here I am now on a level with her." but its my own fault."
I hope God will forgive me. I must have been mad."

Friday 21st
Dr. Nathan called. Agnes O.Brian having
vomited a quantity of blood this morng. he
ordered her to remain in bed for a few days longer.
and gave her medicine.
He saw M. Sutton, says she is getting on nicely.
Bridget McCullock was ordered to wear bandages on both
her legs. Mary Brook, is laid up with influenza, he
ordered medicine for her. and for Susan Atkins whom
he says is in a very weak state. and we are to get
crystal Borax for Annie Millar's sore mouth.
The Dr. saw six patients this evening.

Saturday 22nd
I went with the messenger to Central
market - 1/2 past 6 oclk for the weekly supply of
vegetables spent 4/6.
Kate Atkins behaves so well, she is the quietest woman we
have, and the most industrious - and humbled for her past sins.
Mr. H. Hassack gave 6 pamphlets for the inmates use of
a very instructive as well as entertaining kind.
