Wednesday.

Thursday. Mrs Goodlet gave 2/- to purchase cotton for hair [inserted] netts [nets], which the inmates will crotchet [crochet]
11th for themselves in the evenings and a packet of Watt's illustrated Hymns which are lent to the inmates in the eve. after work.

Friday. The inmates with few exceptions have worked
12th exeedingly [exceedingly] well, and their general conduct has been improving [inserted]. Alice Grey beg.d [begged?] earnestly to be readmitted. When told that her having just come out of prison wd [would] be against her with the [inserted] ladies. She said "O they won't know for I gave another name".
Saturday Matron went at 1/4 past 3 oclk [o'clock] to see her sick
13th daughter sail for Melbourn [Melbourne] in the 'Wonga'
[?] at 5.oclk [o'clock]. Mr Hassack held service at 7 oclk [o'clock]. all present.
Sabbath. There are 27 inmates. all of them [inserted] in good 14th health which is a great blessing. They all attended morn.g [morning] prayers conducted by the Matron. and Morn. service by Mr. Mills. After.n [afternoon] do. by Mr Johnson ( whom Rev.d J Bickford had sent in his stead and even. service by Mr Ayton ( from the Rev.d J Graham's Church) and they [inserted] conducted themselves well. Mr. & Mrs Richards came to see thier [their] daughter & were invited to stay the service after which they implored their child to turn a new leaf
