Warm day. Dear little Ruby came at 1.00 bringing flowers & lovely lemon tart & helped me till nearly 5. I then completed the dinner & Beatrice came at 6.30. I had fowl & spinach [p?rt.], bread sauce, pumpkin quince pie & cream, caramel baked custard, black coffee. R. also brought a birthday cake. B. & I went through "Cockatoos" & to bed after 11 p.m. Dal came & brought the poems from Morgan's B. shop.
