We learn that Oldfield has been ordered 2 months rest as the linear bone in his forehead
has been splintered. The Australian press in articles published today allege that there is
dissension in the English team. As a result of these articles an official statement was
issued denying the rumours.
The statement concluded with the following words:
The members of the English team have always been utterly
loval to their captain, under whose leadership they hope
to achieve an honourable victory.
Announcement at end of second broadcast at 8.30 a.m.
