January 19th. 1933. 6th. day Broadcasting.

Thursday, January 19th
Announcement at beginning of first broadcast at 7.45 a.m.

We are now going to broadcast a description of the third Test Match between England and
Australia at Adelaide, through the courtesy of the manufacturers of Gillette razors and
blades.

Have you tried the new Gillette slotted blade? Although in appearance the difference
between it and the old three hole blade may not seem great, in design and use it is
revolutionary, for in this one blade you have the equivalent of two different steels. At
the edge a hard tough steel which will take a finer and keener edge than has ever been
possible before and round the slot a comparatively soft and pliant steel which will not
crack in the holder. Also this harder and tougher steel will hold its keen edge for many
more shaves than its predecessor.

If you have not tried the new slotted Gillette blade, buy a packet today and prove
to yourself that it gives a keener shave and lasts longer than any blade you have previously
tried. Make sure you ask for the slotted Gillette blades, which fit all types of Gillette
razors.

Australia all out 193 England won by 538 runs

another 50 in 78. Shortly before lunch Richardson was caught by Allen at mid on, off a
kicking ball from Larwood, the 5th wicket falling at 171. Australia, who have not been
lucky in this match, received a further setback when it was learned this morning that Oldfield
would not be able to play.

Grimmett followed Richardson and the rot had now definitely set in. After scoring 6 he
was bowled by Allen. The score at lunch was 184 for 6, Woodfull not out 68, Richardson c Allen
b Larwood 21, Grimmett b Allen 6, extras 12.

After lunch Wall was bowled by the 4th ball of Allen's first over and the remining
batsmen, being unable to master the English attack, the match ended at 2.30. Woodfull carried
his bat, for the second time in this series of Test Matches. He went in first and was unbeaten
at the close, after playing a first class captain's knowk. He was given a tremendous reception
after the conclusion of the match and was carried shoulder high into the pavillion. The innings
lasted 255 minutes and the final score was:-
