I beg to return herewith the Enclosure

of Saturday. Without entering further
into the question than relates to the letter
written Home respecting Mr Mackaness,
I must say, the circumstance is so to-
tally unfounded, that I feel it quite im-
possible to give any credit to the statement.
I should be at aloss to conceive how
