They also said we looked groat so
we trudged on toward Arnold's. Th?se
black boys were not as kind to us,
but what do they know. So we passed
by but we picked up John (the waiter
at 410 & parttime health instructor) and walked
up to the corner of John & Broadway.
Passing Dick's was wonderful training.
I was being stared at! But then we
had to go by line waiting to get in to
Movie. They were the most congested
bunch. (I was getting overwhelmed with
stares). Then I was in the thick of
it. (Remember this was Saturday Night of
Steppin out on Broadway). Meanwhile Stuart
was blowing some horn, and I felt like the
arriving King Kamanawanalea. I felt like
it would be fun to stop & talk but
I didn't see anyone I wanted to talk to.
Can't do it with strangers. We walked
all the way to the end, and then got
our only rude comments, "Stick that Spear
up you ass, faggots." Stopped into B??e
briefly, but it was dead. Didn't stay.
