We have had a lot of
small shocks today but
they dont amount to much
except they shake a little
plaster down once in a
while. The women are
going plumb loco it seems
to me. They won't go back
in their houses and a
good many have went
out of their head. The
family I am stopping
with are very fine people.

I am helping Mrs. Root
do the cooking & I am
the kitchen canary in
general. I intend to go
to work about the first
of the week for $5 a day
and board.

I found a fine bulldog
today and I brought
him home with me tonight
and I wish you
had him. I would not
part with him for $100.
He is educated & a fine
