Description: Handwritten letter from Jack Bentley to his "Dearest Mother," Cornelia Bentley,, dated September 1, 1918 from France. Written on "American YMCA-On Active Service with the American Expeditionary Force" notepaper, Bentley speaks of feeling unwell, missing home, and life in the town in which he is stationed. He also describes the return from the front lines of the husband of the house in which he is billeted.
