A.P.O. #734 February 21st [1919] My dear Mother, Three fine letters from thee today and the last one was telling of having recieved mine. I am glad. As to selling to cows Mother that isn't too my liking as I was wanting to sell them fresh if they were sold at all - yet I am away and I don't know what cows they are either. Things are just the same here now. I saw a funny thing happen yesterday. Sgt. Crowshens has a punch in his right hand & when a local saloon keeper beat his child up yesterday morning Sgt. went over and punched the

saloon keeper two or three times laying him out. I may go to England on leave. I would have gone to Paris but the only attraction there is a wild and woolly crowd of people & I reniged. I hope to get my pass but I am not sure of it at all. I know that thee would approve of the trip. The weather here is going to get better early - its not cold now- they have one month of severe cold weather which is of an unwareing type just fine. its quite a contrast to our in & outs. Of course what thee told me of Turq. was very very interesting he is a lazy devil but so good - looking that he gets away with it. Hoping to hear good news from now on. I remain becoming naturalized.
