My Dear Father

I did not receive a letter from
thee this week and was a little disappointed. but I
supposed thee had not time. I expect you got my
letter last week giving an account of the death of
cousin Elizabeth Plummer. I have not heard
from them since I was at the funeral.
Perhaps I may go out there next seventh-day.
And then I shall be able to tell thee more about
them. I expect that cousin Ruthy will give up
her school and keep house for cousin Richard.
I heard that cousin Betsey requested cousin
Ruthy to take care of her children if she should never
recover. Friend Livingston is very ill and the probability of
his recovery is very doubtful. Mother Gillingham says
that she thinks it was a violent cholic but we do not know
what it will terminate in. Mother Gillingham has been there
all day and very likely she will stay there all night.
