Helen Hallowell could not find the article on the Civil War skirmish
in Sandy Spring.

Fanny Iddings read exerps from. her note book kept when they began
weaving carpets. The first one made for cousins John and Cornelia Bentley
was made from an old ingram carpet, and was not a success, but improved
materials and techniques together with experience have given many beautiful
woven articles including carpets not only to us in the neighborhood but
all over the country.

Helen Farquhar read a most excellent article from an Insurance magazine
written by Gordon’s future father-in-law. He stressed the importance of
assuming our right to vote, and other civic duties.

Betty Grey read an anon. poem, “Don’t you quit”.

Margaret Jones’ poem “As you go thru life” was by Elle Wheeler Wilcox.

Esther Stabler read more from Will Cuppy’s book, this time about
The Pilgrim Fathers.

Alice Farquhar had seen a copy of Harpers which had the story of
Invacauld.

Thelma Anderson had Stella Moore read her delightful poem about
parents getting sick.

Stella, for her own reading told us of the world’s strangest bank, one
for watermelon juice which is used in the treatment of Nephritis.

Deb. reported from the hospital that the cooling tray for salads has been
installed. She made a plea for both donations and help for the Thrift Shop.

Messages were sent Elza by Helen Hallowell, and the Sect’y was to send
one to Bertha Crum.
