Anna Nesbitt first read a joke about an apple a day-followed by an article by Dr. Cadman telling about George Fox-advising that we take more time to think,less talk but more deeds-opposition to war. Our age needs another man with such ideas.

Mary Hutton asked if anyone would lend her a copy of World's Work for August. Mariana Miller will.

Elizabeth Stabler's article proved that complaint of the weather is out of style and also stupid.

Fanny Snowden read from Kathleen Norris's leaflets warning us of the evils of drugs-particularly heroin.

Martha Farquhar's selection was a joke about the Life Saving Service.

Sarah T. Adams had an article but decided not to read it.

Mary Scott read of a man who lives in four states-Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Mrs. Allan Farquhar related an anecdote of Thomas Nelson Page.

Miss Maggie Bond read some versus about crows, written in 1862.

Alice Tyson told some amusing instances of higher education among the colored people.

Hallie Bentley gave what she called a little scrap about Little Hughie going to school.

Charlotte Cresson and Lucy Moore had no contributions.

Cousin Ellen read a Prayer for understanding of conditions.
