Elise Hutton's article "Why Do We Farm?" proved that it was not because of a desire for either money or fame, but because farm life is real living.

Amy Hutton read of our passion for haste-with everything abbreviated-no time for contemplation. Art is seldom achieved in haste.

Julia Hallowell told how Elizabeth Davis has apple dumplings made-steaming them three quarters of an hour.

Emily Massey read a message from Cousin Mary Coffin Brooke who is ill in bed (written in pencil) in which she tells how 29 brings cheer to 92, and prophecies that twenty years from now Radio Girls may be as numerous as present day telephone operators. The Association appreciated this communication and the loving thoughts which prompted its sending, and asked the Secretary to write to Cousin Mary Coffin expressing our love and appreciation.

Constance Cook had no selection.

Helen Hallowell read a very amusing composition on "The Home" written by a school boy of India.

Mary Kirk's anecdote of the highly educated colored girl who asked her companion, "Oh, Amy, is you did your Greek?" was very amusing.

A description of a certain person ( Mary Miller) was given by Elizabeth Stabler.

Mariana Miller asked each member of the Association to give ten cents to help buy some sheets for Hineman School.

Helen Moore announced that Peggy Albion will be at Sherwood on November 14 at 3 P.M. - all are invited though her stories will be especially for children.

Alice Tyson said she would be obliged to resign as Secretary and recommended that Margaret Jones be appointed to fill her unexpired term.

Adjourned to Sallie H. Adams the first Thursday in December.
