Raymond Havens suggested the use of castor oil in mole holes,
but by experience found the commercial "mole knots" to be cheaper
and better. Several others had tried planting various narcissus
bulbs to discourage destruction of the more precious bulbs, but with
doubtful success.

Wendy Lawrence - Why isn't my candytuft blooming? Maybe the
plant is too old; perhaps there was toomuch dry weather last summer,
or it could need a lot more sunlight.

Helen Farquhar, having just returned from York, Pa. where
she had admired some dwarf dahlias, wanted to know if they could be
raised here. Yes, where there is no danger of frost. Then she reported
on a beautiful Easter snowstorm where they had visited in
Connecticut.

Pete Ligon's garden is still too wet to plow, so he and Betty
have been planting potatoes on top of the ground covered with at
least three inches of mulchand compost. This method has been very
productive in other areas, so "even tho the wind blew and Fling"
the mulch away in one section, which Betty had to re-cover, we will
await the results with interest.

The Society was adjourned at 9:35 pm to meet with the Ligons
at Great Ease in June.
