This year, 1935, was ushered in
with a cold, blustry New Years
Day. Mercury 35° to 38°. Next day
the mercury was 20° to 40°, a most
beautiful winter's day. We then had
the average winter weather until
the 23^d when things began to happen.
Snow, 8 inches, fell on the 23^d and
the next morning the mercury
stood at 5° with eleven inches of snow,
and badly dripled in places. No
mail or Daily Papers delivered to
residences off the State roads. The
next morning, the 25^th inst. the mercury
was 9° below zero, and the 28^th inst. 14°
below zero. Then 'twas: "When Winter Comes."
