Quest. Is this the time for the Auction of
the book club, books of the last six months
Ans. Yes. And Philip S. Stabler being
honored by the position of Auctioneer, immediately
proceeded to sell them, the bidding
was lively but very low. And the books now
all sold, but two, for moderate sums.
The Club has proved a success so far, and it
is hoped each year will purchase a higher
standard of books, a good novel is a good
thing, but what shall we say for much of the
sensational trash of the present day, so attractive
to the young, and so injurious to their appreciation
of the really good works of our best Authors.

After a very pleasant evening, we adjourned
to meet at B. H. Millers, May 8th
1875. Philip Stabler and S. L. Thomas appointed
to read.
