53rd Meeting

We met at Benjamin H. Miller's on
May 8th 1875, with quite a full attendance
only seven members being absent. it seems
difficult for us all to gather together,
and we rarely, if ever, have a full
meeting of our twenty four members. We
gathered slowly and the meeting was called
to order about five o'clock, with William
S. Bond as foreman. After the reading
of the minutes of the last meeting here.
we walked out to enjoy the grounds. The
afternoon was pleasant, and we found
in the garden, much to admire. A fine bed
of asparagus attracted most attention, as
it was really bustling with fine stalks ready
to be cut, the early vegetables also looked
well, and a fine hd of cabbage sprouts looked
very tempting. The currant bushes promise
a fine crop, but promises to farmers are not
always kept, as many of us know by sad
