The following resolution was agreed to
Resolved, that our club will give to Francis Miller, a
retaining fee of $15 to endeavour to annul the charter of
the Washington & Rockeville turnpike Co, & the following
members paid each one dollar into the hands of S Brooke, to
be handed to him. Arthur Stabler, Samuel Hopkins, B H Miller,
W S Bond, W W Moore, Robert Stabler, G Farquhar, E P Thomas,
R B Farquhar W S Brooke, & Frederick Stabler,
and the following members were appointed to collect additional
fund, to be placed in the hands of James F Barnsley, to pay a
contingent fee to counsel to prosecute the suit now pending
in the supreme court of the District of Columbia, for that
purpose; in case cf success. W S Brooke Arthur Stabler
B H Miller Fred Stabler E P Thomas W W Moore & S Hopkins.
