Beautiful day feels like the
approach of autumn. we had a
fire in the dining Room. After
dinner Herbert left on his bicycle
for Laurel on his way home his
vacation being over. we shall
miss him very much. Willie took
his Aunt Harriet & sister Dora (in
the "Surry") to "Eldon"; he going on to E
Peirce's to supper calling for them
as he Returned, bringing Fanny Peirce
with them, they Reached home
about 8_30 p.m. John W Johnson
was here to see me about some
Mistake in his pension papers.
after dark_ It feels almost as
if we might have frost tonight.
I sincerely hope not.

Cloudy & Clearing
Ther. 65o MON. SEPT. 4th,, 1893 Changable Wind

I felt quite unwell this morn-
ing. Drove down to Owen Hardy's &
after Returning found I had been
sent for & drove down to prescribe for
Mary T Bond. Bessie went with me
to Hardy's & Edwd: to Bond's. I had
a satisfactory talk with Prof: Chas:
Stabler, Meeting him on the Road
as I went down to Hardy's. Afternoon
Edwd. helped him assort & pack
his books at "Sherwood" School House.
Lucy Stabler called. Miss S. Kirk
called & took sister H home with
her (to "Fair Hill") to spend the night.
The Rockville Base Ball nine came
& played the deciding game with
the Sandy Spring boys. and were
beaten (5_ to 4.)
