Cloudy & Rain
Ther. 70 Fri. Aug 4th, 1893 Wind
We have had a gentle
rain most of the morning, but
the farmers would say "not
enough". Afternoon Mrs: Jas
Bryan was here for advice &
medicine for her husband.
The boys helped us saw the
ends of the white oak log
I got to make a new "biscuit
block". We finished it, and it
makes a very good one.
I went to the mill & got a
bag of horse feed. I finished
putting "Paris Green" on the potatoes.
Henry Powell (of Sarah Jane) was
here with "toothache".

Cloudy & Clear
Ther. 68 [degrees] Sat. Aug. 5th, 1893 Wind
Clear and warm. I am suffering
somewhat with my back, having
strained it, working at the biscuit
block yesterday and stooping over
in putting "Paris Green" on the
potatoes. Afternoon Alice Pierce brought
sister Harriet home. I bought new
wire "fly screen" for the office door.
