Rain
Ther. 63o Tues. May 16th, 1893 Variable Wind

Commenced raining in the night
& continued pretty steadily all the
morning raining very hard part of
the time. I wrote letters to T.H
Borden, Sister Harriet & Brother
William, also sent a shawl strap
by mail to Bro: Wm which they
had loaned me. Dora went to
the Library both before & after
noon. I am feeling very tired, &
glad to rest in the quiet today.

Clear & Cloudy
Ther. 45o Wed. May 17th, 1893 Wind N.W.

Weather much cooler, had it not
been for a high wind last night
there would have been frost. We had
fires in dining room & office. Bro:
Charles called & smoked a pipe with
me. Ned Alcorn was here & had a
tooth extracted. Jannice Lethebridge
was also here for advice and
medicine. I rode Frank to Ashton
before dinner. Harriet, Dora, and
Willie took carpet up from parlor
& put down matting. Afternoon I
worked at cutting the grass around the
house with the lawn mower & sickle or
grass knife. Edwd rode "Frank" to Ashton
for a can of dried beef.
