Cloudy Ther. 40 THURS. MAR. 28th, 1889 Variable Wind

Cloudy & threatning. I drove down to Robt. Stabler's, & dined at Mary Bond's calling at Ashton on way home for some provisions etc. Charley & Dora came home about 4 o'clock. I have taken more cold & feel rheumatic and sore.

Clear Ther. 33° FRIDAY 29th N.W Wind

Charley & Dora started for "Elton" again. Charley expecting to meet Ernest in his market-wagon, and taking out one of his horses to hitch to the buggy and let "Louis Rust" drive Dora on to Elton, and putting C's mare to the wagon he & Ernest will go to Washington expecting to get some lumber with which to build an "office" at the East end of the house. "Ardeen" Franklin (colored girl) was here for advice & medicine. Miss Deborah Brooke (who died night before last) was buried at the "Meeting house" burying ground this afternoon. Bro: Chas & wife called and I walked over to the grave yard with them.

Clear Ther. 33° SAT. MAR. 30, 1889 Variable Wind

Robert Stabler was here & I dressed his wounded wrist. I rod on horseback to Sarah Johnson's and reduced a "hernia" for their boy "Fred". After dinner I drove over to Riverside (Edward with me) and walked from there to S "Emma" Green's to a public sale & bought 3 wedges . After coming home Mrs S Ellicott called for advice etc. Charley & Ernest arrived from Washington with the window and door frames & shutters & doors for the office about 5-30 o'clock p.m. and after supper they drove on up to Elton. After supper Jno Ed: Hill called and paid his bill.

Cloudy Rain Ther. 40° SUNDAY 31st Variable Wind

I was awakened ear;ly this morning by thunder and rain, it ceased raining after breakfast but was cloudy all day Arthur Edwards was here for us to go down to George Fuller's. Emma King was here & had a tooth extracted. AB Pool brought his wife up for advice & medicine etc. I drove down to see Frank Grimes and over to Homewood to prescribe for cousin Ellie who has a very ugly sore throat. I brought Hannah Archer home with me. Charley & Dora came home about supper time. John W Johnson here after supper.

Rain Ther. 65 MON. APRIL 1st 1889 S.W. Wind

Dull rainy & disagreeable all day. I drove over to Homewood to see cousin "Ellie" again. called at Ashton & had "Fritz" shod new "in front" & bought some medicines etc. Charley went to Grime's and Geo: Fuller's. Ernest dined here. Wm J Scofield here to have tooth extracted. Leanna Marshall here for advice & medicine. Bro Richd and Lizzie I. called. Afternoon Charley went over to Sarah Johnson's to see "Fred" again.

Clear Ther. 60 TUESDAY 2 Variable Wind

Clear early in the morning and clouding over about noon. Charley & I drove over to see cousin Ellie Chaudlee (who is much better) thence to see Fred Johnson. & home to dinner. Afteroon C went to see Geo Fuller's infant and Mrs B O Hardy and to Riverside. We had a thunder gust about 3-p.m. Martha A Wright called to see me _ R R Moore Jr. sent us 1/2 cord of "sawd" oak wood seasoned.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 69_ WED. APRIL 3d, 1889 Variable Wind

I feel quite rheumatic this morning and "generally miserable" . Charley worked on the lot hauling out manure trimming the hedge. etc. I drove over to prescribe for Mrs Owen Hardy. Frank Robison going with me. Sarah Johnson's boy "Eli" was here with a note from his mother before and after school for medicine for Fred the last time. Charley also prepared medicine for L Oldfield's wife.

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 50 THURSDAY 4 N.W. Wind

Much colder today. Charley worked in the lot. planted potatoes Lila Green was here for advice & med; also. R Roland Moore. Benj Hardy etc. I took Hannah Archer over to Martha Leas & left her there. We all signed a petition to the P.M. Gen for a mail twice daily to S.S. Mary Gilpin called. Recd letter from sister H announcing the death of Geo Iddings & the last of the Bro Ja's immediate family.

Cloudy 40 FRI. APRIL 5, 1889 Variable Wind

Miss Sally Ellicott was here for advice & prescription etc for her mother. Charley worked at the fence between us & Mrs Robison. Edwd had such a cold he did not go to school until after noon Martha Ann Wright was here for advice etc Frank Fairall here after supper to borrow long gum boots go "gigging".

Rain & Snow Ther. 37° SATURDAY 6th N. E Wind

This has been the most disagreeable day I have known for years It has snowed all day & the wind blowing a "hurricane". Just before dark Hardy's people sent over for Charley and he went through the storm. and came home just after dusk.

Clear Ther. 56 SUN. APRIL 7th, 1889 Wind NW

Clear and beautiful being as great a contrast with yesterday as can welll be imagined, & were it not for a high wind from N.W. it would be a lovely spring day. Charley walked over to Meeting. Afternoon Alice & Fanny Peirce were here. I rode up to Dan Bank's & prescribed for his youngest boy. Charley & Dora drove up to Elton with the hope that Ernest would go to Washington tomorrow for the rest of the lumber for the office: but I confess I have small faith in his doing so. After supper I walked up to the P.O. with some letters to mail.

Clear & High wind Ther. 40 MONDAY 8th Wind N.W.

Very windy & cool. Ruth Ann Bowen & her sister Caroline were here for the latter for advice & medicine. Afternoon Annie Hill was here for me to go & see "uncle Henson" tomorrow. Dan Banks was here for medicine for his brother I walked up to the Mill for feed for Edwd's pigeons. After tea Edward went in next door to practice singing their pieces for "arbour day".

Clear Ther. 58 TUES. APRIL 9,th 1889 N.W Wind

Drove over to see Henson Hill. one of my buggy wheels "heated & stuck"on the hill near Leizear's gate. I "draged" it down to Levi Hills & he & Frank Lea helped me fix it. I went across from Henson Hills to see Lydia Budd, but she was not at home. went to Thomas Lea's and greased the other front wheel. from there to Jno Abels and prescribed for his daughter "Fanny" thence down to Jno Grimes to prescribe for Frank's wife & home. Martha Bellows called me in & I prescribed for her. Mary Hill was here for advice & med: for her daughter. also Susan Davis for: med: for her daughter -

Clear Ther. 60° WEDNESDAY 10th N.W. Wind

Beautiful day for this "Arbour Day" celebrations. Mrs Robison was in to see me about Miss Mary who is quite sick. Bro R called on way to meeting. I drove to Ashton for some Medicines. Afternoon I went over to the School house to an exhibition "tree planting" etc gotten up by Miss Sally for the children Charley & Ernest arrived with a 4 horse load of lumber from Washington about 6 o'clk p.m. & soon after Carr brought another load. Charley & Ernest took supper here. & then went on to Elton.

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 69 THURS. APRIL 11,th 1889 S Wind

Clear & beautiful until after dinner. I drove up to "Marden" & prescribed for Miss Alice, and also Mrs Roland Moore. Charley & Dora came home about 4 o'clock p.m. Fanny Stephenson was here for advice & medicine Mrs: Robison was in after tea. & Edwd went in there in the evening to hear them reading some stories from the "Youths Companion"

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 68 FRIDAY 12th S.W Wind

I drove to "Marden" to prescribe again for Alice Tyson. Charley worked at the fence between his & Mrs R until with some help from me he finished it. Afternoon Rachael Mellows was here for advice & med: for her daughter-in-law (Agnes Awkand).

Cloudy Ther. 69° SAT. APRIL 13,th 1889 Variable Wind

Very heavy wind storm about 11-30 last p.m. but did us no harm. Poor old "Fritz" got down on his lame side last night & we were obliged to help him up this morning but he was soon all right again. I was sent for and drove to "Marden" soon after 9 o'clock. leaving several patients here for Charley to attend to. I drove to see Alice Tyson who was very ill & remained there all day. Sendiing Fritz & the buggy to Ashton for medicine. & also Mrs Estelle Moore & finally I sent him home & walked home to supper going back to "Marden" after supper & coming home about 10 p.m. walking each way.

Clear Ther. 45 SUNDAY 14th N.W. Wind

Beautiful morning but much cooler. I drove to "Marden" and up to Jas J Henderson's to extract a tooth from Mrs. Chas. Disney. Afternoon Charley & Dora went to Cincinnati & Riverside & home to tea. Fanny Peirce walked home from Homewood with Dora. I drove up to Marden again using J T Henderson's buggy.

Cloudy & Clear MON. APRIL 15,th 1889 N.E. Wind

Raw & chilly all day. I drove up to "Marden" to prescribe again for Alice Tyson who is in a "critical" condition I hope for a favorable change before night if all goes well. Afternoon Charley drove over to Riverside etc. I went to the "Orthodox" meeting before dinner & walked home with Dora cousin Hannah Archer & Fanny Peirce etc. After dinner went to the School house with J T Henderson & meeting Benj D Palmer had a sales factory school meeting. Alice Peirce & Fanny Tillson drove over at tea time & all the young folks went over to the annual meeting of the Lyceum Company. Ellie Chaudlee expecting to return & spend the night here. I went again to "Marden" about 5-30 p m & found Alice Tyson (in my opinion) much improved since morning & unless something unforseen occurs she may recover. Richie Leizear brought us a fag of hay

Cloudy & threatning Ther. 49° TUESDAY 16th Wind N.E.

"Raw" and chilly all day. I drove to "Marden" to see Alice Tyson again after which Charley took cousin Ellie Chaudlee home & went to see "Uncle Henson" Hillias Robison went with me this morning. Afternoon I went again to see Alice Tyson, whom I now consider "out of danger". if great care is taken to keep her quiet for a sufficient length of time.
