Ther. Thurs. Dec. 24, 1885 Wea.

Jno Johnson worked at cutting
fodder for the horses. After
breakfast I took Dora & Edwd
over to Homewood to call
upon Mary Kummer. After
supper Willie & I walked down
to Ashton for some "Christmas
things", the store being open
again, and was filled with
eager purchasers all in good
humor and cheerful in
anticipation of a "Merry
Christmas" tomorrow

Ther. Fri. Dec. 25th, 1885 Wea.

Beautiful Christmas
day, which we passed quietly
at home having all of our
family together to dinner
After dinner Charley and
Dora went over to Riverside
by invitation to tea to meet
Frank Snowden & Fanny
Stabler; they got home soon
after "moon rise" (about
ten o'clock) having had a
pleasant evening and enjoyed
themselves very much
the rest of us having gone
to bed. I had to get up and
let them in they having
forgotten to take their night
keys with them.
