Charley staid all night at Col
Rust's with Ernest & came home
about 8.o'clk this a.m. I drove
over to W Scott's & found him
extremely weak & faint.
Sent for Dr Martin in consultation,
& went again in the
afternoon. left him feeling
better. Tom Budd Jr: here
for advice & med for wife.
Wash woman here.

After breakfast I drove
over to W Scott's & met Dr S
Martin again Willie going
with me. After dinner Charley
& I drove up to "Olney" to
the Election. Sent Willie
down to W S Bond's to see
about hay. & to the store
for Groceries &^c. Michael
Thompson brought us a ton
of "stove" coal. An Italian
"tramp" or traveler called
here & H gave him breakfast.
Weather feels & looks "wintry".
I greatly enjoy seeing the
family gathered aroung "cozy"
fires in the evenings reading, studying,
knitting drawing &^c.
It makes home sweet home".
