Quite cold again. William
Platt brought a bag of corn
for the hogs. Mary Hammond
was here for advice & medicine
I received letter from Mr
C A Boynton. Washington.
Afternoon Willie went over
to Brookeville to a game of
"foot ball". After supper W
& I walked down to Ashton
& back. getting some dried beef
lard, & yeast powder.

Ther. Sun. Dec. 13th, 1885 Wea.

Commenced raining and
sleeting early in the morning
effectually spoiling the boy's
contemplated "bicycle" ride to
Washington. It has been the
most completely stormy day.
Willie broke his bicycle trying
to ride on the sleet. Jno Johnson
came to see about the butchering
tomorrow. Edward seems very
croupy today & I am afraid
will have a hard time tonight.
Wrote to Mr C A Boynton in
Washington D.C. in reference
to the setter "Nelly".
